Visit the Caglieron Caves and you’ll feel like you’re entering a dream world!
Gorges, bridges and artificial chambers give a fairy-tale atmosphere to the Caglieron Caves. Located just a few kilometres from Vittorio Veneto, the caves are the ideal place for a day out for the whole family.
No one can fail to fall for the charms of this breathtaking spot, which is definitely one of the must-see marvels of the Prosecco Superiore Hills. Along the route, natural caves carved out by the stream that gave the site its name can be found alongside artificial chambers formed during the quarrying process for “piera dolza” (“soft stone”) that can still be seen in door and window jambs in the local area. It’s interesting to note that some of the caves are used to age cheeses made by the Agricansiglio dairy, giving them a unique flavour!
Don’t leave Fregona without trying DOCG Torchiato raisin wine, which is best enjoyed with desserts. The secrets to the long drying and production process behind it are handed down from one generation to the next.
