Discover countless outstanding wines and great little wineries.
There are plenty of wine labels steeped in experience and tradition in the local area and it isn’t all about Prosecco.
Many other exceptional wines are made in the Prosecco Superiore hills.
Although they may not be as well known, it’s definitely worth sampling their exquisite delights during your holiday in the Prosecco Hills. For example, Torchiato di Fregona is a raisin wine that’s made in the Fregona area near the Caglieron Caves.
It’s tasted during a festival with pagan origins on 2 August every year. Then there’s Refrontolo Passito, a red raisin wine made with grapes that have been grown locally for more than 700 years. Verdiso and Carmenere are two great wines for serving with meals. The former is a white wine that was made popular by farmers from the Abbey of Follina, while the latter is a red wine that’s perfect with meat-based dishes.
Make sure you try Recantina. It comes from grapes that have been grown in the Asolo area for almost four centuries and it has enjoyed somewhat of a revival in recent years thanks to the hard work and dedication of local vine growers.
